Lo everyone

As you can see, the server has been ressurected from the dead! All posts and other information as of sunday evening have been retained, so any posts made on monday morning have, unfortunately, been lost.

However, everything should pretty much be back to normal now. The upgrade to the new server should be taking place on or about 14th April; I'll let you know closer to the date.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Good work whoever was involved getting it back up and running.... not a bad turnaround time considering the nature of the problems.

Great work Tak.

As of last night though, some people were having trouble getting to the site and were just getting the ISP placeholder page instead.

Would it be fair to say that it's a routing/DNS thing that will fix itself before too long?

Aye, I only redirected the page back to this server as of yesterday afternoon. Bizarrely, on BT it updated immediately, and I noticed some other people were able to connect quickly too. It all depends on the DNS, which can take anything up to 48 hrs to fully propagate.

If folk are having trouble beyond that, I'd recommend doing an ipconfig /flushdns in a cmd window if they're on XP, to make sure nothing is cached.

Sorry about that brief downtime, folks. Tentative feedback is that we have someone attacking the site again, although I'm unsure in what capacity at present.

Apologies for the inconvenience.
